Richard Millward – Eurosovereigns and the possible consequences for the development of the capital markets
The current events with Euro-sovereigns are still dominating the financial markets and are of key interest to all CEO and CFO who deal with the Eurozone. The issues for corporates remain the same – banks are expected to continue to have high costs of funding reducing their appetite for corporate lending (due to Basle III on top of their exposure to Eurosovereigns), and corporates need to manage their operational funding programmes to take into account on-going problems in the Eurozone.
Richard is An MD at Rothschild. He joined Rothschild in January 2001 and has advised companies on their debt strategy and funding throughout his career. He sits on the management committee which runs Rothschild's European debt and equity business across Europe.
